Gripped my attention from beginning to end. The story line was so plausible and so much scripture woven throughout!!! The mercy, love and forgiveness of God was so beautifully depicted. Our God is full of mercy and compassion and HE IS LOVE. That's the truth that I am illuminated with as I close this book. It even gave some answers to questions I had about the family of Achan being killed with him👍🏾. This is a great book and I highly recommend it. Ready for the 2nd in this series!!!! Thank you Jill for the beautiful, heartfelt way you told Rahab's story! LOVED IT!!!

I could not put the book down. I loved learning about the historic background of the people in Jericho. The person that Rahab was forced to be and God's redemption.

I loved every part of it.
This book is full of very compelling intrigue and romance. It is a moderatly clean book as far as any sexual content. The facts taken from the Bible are an important Bible story.The author, writing it as fictional takes and weaves a lovely story into these facts make it more real. Ms. Smith certainly did make it interesting and an excellent story.
liked the book very much....gave an insight to the way Rahab life may have been...I enjoyed seeing this veiw of the story...I believe that the way it was explained is very possible as women were "property" during this time...and as we have very little history about Jericho before they were conquered , then it is very possible she was forced into such a life...regardless how she ended up there ..the struggle and the Lords cleansing of her makes the story very real...loved the book and starting in Deborah next!!
Each of us hope for a love beyond words..., faith in the midst of life's uncertainties, an understanding of our God and His desires for our lives. Rahab's story is one of betrayal, loss, desperation and her hope in the pit of the worst of human cruelty. Each of us has walked through at least some of life's hurt & will connect with Rahab. I'm sure you will enjoy her story as I did.
The author captivates the reader with vivid descriptions of the city, its customs, and political intrigue. Not only did she do a good job of coming up with a possible life struggle, but the reader can imagine the life of servitude as one kingdom enslaves another due to its laws and conquests. I look forward to the next Daughter of the Bible book.
I always enjoy books wirtten by Jill Smith. She gives her characters substance and they come alive on the page. It makes the Bible come alive, even with her "writers license" to add to the story. I always check Scripture and the Bible regarding her books. I find they have all been an excellent read. Even though I know the story of Rahab, I was there with her, in that part of history, seeing how people lived, thought, ate, worked. Really worth the investment in my .
I did enjoy this interpretation of Rahab's story. However, I was disappointed that it took the whole book for Rahab to marry. I generally do not like it when you have to wait until the last page for the two main characters to acknowledge their feelings for each other. I did enjoy learning more about the rituals of the Israelites and their laws. Will continue to read this author's work.
